However, this service has only been available in it's default incarnations, as configured directly through Plesk, while requests for, and use, of this service has remained very low among all customers. More recently, we have been working to get it up and running to a more acceptable state, partnering with some customers to enable a fully-functioning Tomcat services for their sites. However, we have struggled with this due to numerous issues with the configuration settings and the options provided through Plesk. Therefore, as we don't believe that we have the knowledge and experience to provide the support and service of Tomcat that you expect from us, we have decided, with immediate effect, to withdraw support for it for all current and new packages. While we don't believe that any of our customers are actually using it, this may however affect a small number. This has resulted in a substantial increase in our base-line costs (for example, our per-unit bandwidth costs have increased by over 200% in the last 12 months). While we have initially absorbed the costs of these changes, this is no longer possible. We therefore need to increase our prices accordingly, bringing them into line with the increase in costs. As of March 1st, all new purchases and excess charges (i.e. bandwidth or space overages) will use the new prices, while from April 1st, all standard renewals will follow suit. Full details of these new prices will be e-mailed to you directly using the e-mail address on your billing account by Friday (February 23rd). Therefore, from the March 9th, 2007, the server will become known as alpha.jabservers.co.uk when we change over the secure certificate that protects communications with Plesk and your e-mail. The jabwebservers.co.uk domain will still be available, and will continue to function as normal (you will be able to access the server using the old name and no domain will need to change their name servers in order to continue to function). You will only need to change the name of the server when you connect to Plesk or have enabled secure (SSL or TLS) access for your e-mail account. If you do not change the name you will see an error message saying that the name in the certificate does not match the hostname you have entered. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause, however completing this change it will allowing us to standardize the names across all our servers, simplifying support in the long run. Only customers on one.jabwebservers.co.uk will be affected by this change.
